Пора и необходимо - это две разные вещи =) Пора -- это когда пакетная база
обкатана и достаточна для дистрибутива. У нас пока ещё не всё так сладко,
как хотелось бы. Все хотят :)
Сборку Сизифа для x86_64 я вообще начинал просто "Just for fun" (C) Linus.
