Делаю по описанию "Konstantin A. Lepikhov"
$ echo "REALTIME_OPTS=\"gid=81\"" > /etc/sysconfig/realtime
$ service realtime start

У меня идет ругань на альтернативы (?) и модуль не загружается.
$ uname -r
2.6.12-wks26-up-alt4
Пробую сделать так:
# modprobe realtime gid=81
[root@localhost bin]# lsmod |grep realtime
realtime 5512 0
commoncap 7168 1 realtime
[root@localhost bin]# jackd -R -d alsa
jackd 0.99.0
--//-- skiped --//--
loading driver ..
creating alsa driver ... hw:0|hw:0|1024|2|48000|0|0|nomon|swmeter|-|32bit
control device hw:0
--//-- skiped --//--
Затем пробую в Центре управления KDE указать в качестве модуля вывода звука
Jack. Нажимаю применить.
Получаю окошко с надписью:
Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
Couldn't connect to jackd
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.
А в консоли (где запущен jack)
**** alsa_pcm: xrun of at least 57.815 msecs
