Ну они его поддерживают точно в той же степени, что и nVidia например, то есть
в виде бинарных драйверов. Разве что драйверы кривые и не работают с Xorg
7.0, но принципиально это дела не меняет. Только раньше они вроде как
заигрывали с Линукс-сообществом, ну а теперь про надежды на свободный драйвер
для Радеонов можно забыть. По поводу бинарных драйверов кстати недавно тоже
разразился очередной скандал среди разработчиков кернеля, и из 2.6.15 чуть не
выкинули возможность загружать не-GPL модули. Пока вроде оставили, но похоже
владельцам nVidia тоже скоро придет кирдык. И куды крестьянину податься? Вот
тебе и переспективы Линукса на десктопе...
