Здравствуйте!
Случайно заметил, что в /usr/lib есть каталоги (да не пустые!) вида
firefox-1.0.5, firefox-1.0.6 Очевидно, что это остатки от firefox'ов
соответствующих версий.
Вопрос: почему они не удалились вместе с ним?

Сила линукса, на мой взгляд, как раз в его разнообразии. Разнообразии
во всём! Начиная от ядра и заканчивая прикладными программами. Кто-то
скажет - "Уязвима glibc", а я скажу - "У меня uclibc". Кто-то скажет
"Уязвим KDE", а я скажу - "У меня WindowMaker" и тому подобное.
Именно поэтому трудно написать универсальный вирус для Линукс.
