В интеловскую мамку с двумя онбордными эзернетами вставлял две двухпортовки.
Работало чудесно. Большее количество просто не пробовал.
Вообще же если надо сделать мультипортовый роутер, то VLAN-aware свич,
подключенный транком к компу, как правило помогают.
