Смотрим в направлении /etc/hal/fdi/policy в файл charsets.
Кстати, в почему вообще charset в hal не сделан завязанным на локаль
пользователя? Это бага, или так задумано по тем или иным причинам?
Также, sync для флэшек, мне кажется, лучше по-умолчанию оттуда убрать. Это ну
о-очень медленно.
