если тема для hardware - ответте туда.
у меня модуль для skystar жалуется:
dvb-ttpci: could not load firmware, file not found: dvb-ttpci-01.fw
dvb-ttpci: usually this should be in /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware
dvb-ttpci: and can be downloaded here http://www.linuxtv.org/download/dvb/firmware/
по гуглу - это классика. но как бы там ни было причины я пока не нашёл.
firmware-dvb стоит. есть файл /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/dvb-ttpci-01-261d.fw.
но нету файла dvb-ttpci-01.fw. hotplug должен сам догадаться, что файл с
другим именен, или ему обьяснить можно? либо в каком пакете стоит
правильный firmware?
hotplug конечно стоит, причём вместе в udev.

Что мешает попробовать сделать
ln
-s /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/dvb-ttpci-01-261d.fw /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/dvb-ttpci-01.fw
?

Повесьте, пожалуйста багу про это с описанием, как действовать, если
заработает. Мне все некогда было колдовать с 2.6, так что пакет с
прошивками собран несколько вслепую по инструкциям.
