Backported - это ported back. :)
В Owl сейчас rpm-4.2 (та ещё штучка, надо признать).
Что касается rpm HEAD, то первое изменение там точно будет, а про судьбу
второго можно будет сказать после того, как будет интегрировано первое.
А вообще, rpm проще написать заново, чем исправить.
