Здравствуйте.
После замены пакетов XFree86 на xorg куда-то делся указанный шрифт. В
пакете xorg-x11-type1 есть шрифт с таким именем, но только не в
кодировке koi8-r. Не подскажете, как его вернуть, а то
-val-URW Gothic L-medium-r-*-*-*-120-*-*-*-*-*-*
выглядит в wm-теме хуже
-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-*-*-*-120-*-*-*-*-*-*
? Кодировка локали koi8-r.

Вообще шрифт от adobe по определению не может быть в кодировке
koi8-r, поскольку не содержит соответствующих глифов (как мне
кажется).

Совершенно точно не содержит. Именно по этой причине некоторым авторам
тем IceWM и gtk (и не только) приходилось принудительно править руки
на предмет
s/adobe/\*/g
