Не проверял. Положить golded.tpl в ~/golded+/template и указать
template golded.tpl - так 100% работает у меня.

Он должен называться goldhelp.cfg и лежать в ~/.golded+

Это не Аганичев, это Tarrio... Там curses инитится до парсинга
конфига и перетащить его пониже не получается.
