Почему FireFox не видит установленные в системе плагины для Mozilla? Это так и
задумано? Ставить ему неопакеченные плагины с сайтов разработчиков?

Сейчас эта ситуация исправляется.
В Daedalus лежит mozilla-plugin-macromedia-flash , который виден обоим
браузерам. Скоро к нему добявятся остальные плагины (я надеюсь).
