В отношении service sound -- ничего не делать. На 2.6 он не нужен.
Видимо, можно сравнить вывод lsmod для 2.6 и 2.4 на предмет загруженных
модулей ALSA. Если там и там он одинаков, причина, вероятно, в том, что 2.6
ALSA древнее.
