Без объявления войны мышь (PS/2, Logitech, Optical) начала "метаться" по экрану самостоятельно переключая окна (IceWM) и запуская программы.

Почитав Гугль, обнаружил, что подобное случалось при ядре 2.6.2, а в 2.6.3 уже оказалось пофиксеным.

Может имеет смысл забить на PS/2 и перейти на USB mouse?

Ага у меня тоже самое. на 2.6.9 так сильно усугубилось, что я переткнул в USB 
чтоб она во время пыжков не грохнула чего нужного - прыгать перестала, но 
теперь другая проблема - она время от времени просто виснит (в логах будто бы 
она отключена была), потмогает 2 способа:

1) переключится в консоль и переткнуть мыш - просто но через некоторое время 
может повиснуть вся USB подсистема так что только перезагрузка

2) переключится в консоль и перегрузить модули USB (rmmod/modprobe)

Я вообще думал что это моя мыш концы отдает - но смотрю я не одинок.
