Как следствие у вас программы не умеют выводить изображение
реального размера.
см. man xorg.conf на предмет DisplaySize

Ну поставьте Windows на 15" монитор с разрешением 1600x1280, и мы
посмеёмся как вы попытаетесь разглядеть там буквы на экране. С
прибитым гвоздями-то dpi...
