Ага, zlib-1.2.1.1-alt1, дата сборки "Sun Feb 22 2004".
В ALC2.3 - zlib-1.1.4-alt4 (в т.ч. -devel-static), дата сборки
"Thu May 01 2003".

Вы "слегка" обновили ваш ALC2.3, возможно, из Сизифа.  Раз так, то
обновляйте zlib и дальше.  Возьмите, например, из ALM2.4, или
zlib-1.2.2-alt1 из Сизифа - вполне достойная версия.
