я говорил о реакции на явные баги. разумеется, это - не тот случай. и
разумеется, в этом случае ничего сделать нельзя - не идти же на явное
нарушение стандартов ради "совместимости" с кучей мусора.
но важно не это.
когда, к примеру, (в очередной раз!) mplayer вылетает на ровном месте из-за
бага с arts, неграмотным юзерам сложно объяснять, что система вообще говоря
стабильная. что моя рабочая машина стоит месяцами включенная, и не
превращается в помойку несмотря на установку/удаление десятков программ в
неделю, что у меня пишутся болванки/кодируется divx/грабится-энкодится cda, и
я не иду на перекур а продолжаю работать - это все охотничьи рассказы.
пусть не пользуются arts? а на cmi9739 без хардварного микшера? да, _я_ знаю,
что cmedia козлы, а разработчики alsa принципиально не стали делать
soft-mixer. но ведь юзерам надо совсем немного: одновременно слушать музыку и
играть в игрушку, и не тянуться к колонкам за регулятором.
и таких примеров куча. юзерам проще раз в полтора-два месяца звать меня
переставить им винду, либо умершую, либо для профилактики.
