Должно. Но bootsplash от этого всё равно не появится - для него
требуется поддержка в самом драйвере, и соответствующим образом
патчится только vesafb.

В 2.4.x - никак (разве что тащить fbset в initrd); у этой версии
radeonfb нет параметров модуля для установки режима. В 2.6.x такие
параметры есть, но там сам radeonfb какой-то убитый :(
