Глупый ответ: ставил ядро из бинарников, сам не компилял, так что то,
что было в initrd, то там и осталось, а чего не было, того,
соответственно, появиться не могло. Но это всё лирика, поскольку корень
и boot -- обычные разделы, и до начала загрузки сервисов система
добиралась. Дальше говорила, что не может запустить LVM, а прочая фигня
была уже следствием того, что не смонтировался /var
Впрочем, Сергей Власов уже объяснил, где собака порылась :-)
