Тому есть причины. Начиная с того, что когда пошли беты компакта
-- 1.2.8 в приличном состоянии не был (приходит в него он начал
где-то ближе к alt3, если не только сейчас).
И заканчивая тем, что я не знаю, какой набор пакетов будет в
updates/ для compact. С учетом переименования пакетов xmms --
внедрение 1.2.8 под занавес бета-тестирования может существенно
прибавить головной боли при попытке определить "а что же такое
compact?" в дальнейшем.
Поэтому более ранние сборки не рассматривались как кандидаты в
compact вообще.
alt5 несколько особенная, почему такая мысль и пытается бороться
со здравым смыслом. :)
