А советы принимаются? Забекапьте XF86Config и запустите fglrxconfig.
После чего все, что Вам там будет интересно перенесете в свой старый
конфиг и будет Вам счастье. Там, как я уже говорил, _много_ параметров
всяких.
Я vsu@ отправлял nosrc.rpm для сборки юзерспейсного барахла для fglrx и
kernel-source-fglrx прямо из ATIшного RPM'а, там все эти утилиты есть.

Обновлять. Хуже того, обновлять его очень капитально, потому что мой
9200 SE там, вроде как есть, только не работает нифига, потому что
драйвер radeon эту карточку просто не нащупывает, у нее чип другой.
Вообще, на самом деле, в этом месте нужно править не только ldetect-lst,
но и собственно тех, кто этим ldetect-lst пользуется. Сегодня глядел на
соответствующее место в harddrake2 из Mdk9.2, там навернута довольно
большая и не табличная, что существенно, логика на то, каким драйвером
пользоваться для NVidia и ATI Radeon'ов.

Ну, это еще цветочки. У меня на 9200 SE при переключении в консоль и
обратно всегда ломается палитра (в смысле, как если бы многоцветную
картинку засунули в 16/256 цветов), а при запуске второго X'сервера первый
напрочь ломается, периодически унося за собой всю машину. Будем
жаловаться в ATI? :-)
