Бывает, что игрушки виснут, а пошевелишь мышь - отвиснут =).
Если не поможет, то смотреть отладку xdosemu -D9+NN,
где NN - один или несколько флагов отладки (dosemu --help).
Если игра использует DPMI, то скорее всего xdosemu -D9+M.
Лог находится в ~/.dosemu/boot.log.
