Эти проблемы можно воспроизвести в консоли, и без загрузки nvidia и
т.п. (если lsmod говорит Not tainted)? Попробуйте это сделать,
предварительно выполнив dmesg -n9, и покажите последние сообщения ядра
перед зависанием.
Влияют ли на ситуацию опции типа acpi=off?
