В результате полдня разборок я наоборот -- выключил сервис internet и включил
adsl. После чего ошибки в логах при остановке системы исчезли.

Хм, и откуда же я их возьму? Вы думаете Verizon мне адреса своих серверов DNS
выдает? Да кроме компакта Windows self-install и бумажки с рисунками -- пункт
1, вставьте CD в компьютер, пункт 2, воткните модем в розетку от них ничего
не дождешься. Теперь я эти адреса естественно уже знаю, а ну как их сменят?
Все же как-то это кривовато выглядит, недорихтовано.
