А чего Вы боитесь? Если я не ошибаюсь kde - это виртуальный пакет - сносите его спокойно.

Я думаю, что telnet-server стоит включить в дистрибутив.
Не из-за того, что telnet protocol, возможно, имеет смысл в современном мире,
а из-за довольно приличной реализации.
В конце концов, хороший пример реализации концепции privilege separation
на практике не так часто встречается.
