С этим ядром я не пробовал. Только с 2.4.21rel-std-up-alt14.
Решилась проблемка в процессе шаманства, так что рецептов давать не могу.
Если коротко, то причина, видимо, была в каком-то кривом пристутсвии в
системе ядер и хедеров.
Подробнее -- я пытался откатиться на предыдущую версию нвидии в разных
вариантах, в том числе и с предыдущим ядром 2.4.21rel-std-up-alt6, с
установкой и хедеров, есс-но. Все это не работало и я восстановил
первоначальный вариант, чтобы сидеть с драйвером nv :)). В результате в
системе осталось _только_ одно ядро 2.4.21rel-std-up-alt14. и хедеры.
Переустановил я и kernel-modules-nvidia с ЖЛХсом. И, о чудо...
Прозаично, но других версий у меня нет...
