Здравствуйте всем!
Кто бы пояснил мне, как бороться с вышеуказанной конфигурацией? Или возможно
драйверов для AGP8 еще нет в ядре? Похоже на то, так как если указать agpgart
в /etc/modules, то он не грузится и, соответственно, не грузится коммерческий
драйвер nvidia для моей видеокарты GeForce4 WinFast A280 TD. Для минимальной
работы необходимо использовать хитрые опции в /etc/X11/XFree86-4.conf -
указать Option "NvAgp" "2" в секции "Device", посвященной видеокарте.
Причем, "2" - это и есть agpgart. При попытке указать "1" (использование
внутренней nvidia AGP) ничего не загружается. Но даже после загрузки Х
работает настолько медленно, что это попросту кошмар какой-то. Потратил массу
денег на новое железо, купил и на тебе... Каждая прога ждет полминуты прежде,
чем подняться. Если выставить в байосе насильно AGP4, то все работает
нормально. Есть ли способы заставить Линукс работать нормально с AGP8?
Драйвера nvidia самые последние - взял пару дней назад с сайта nvidia и
скомпилил.
