В incoming/Sisyphus отправлен новый пакет:

fee2d500d5c47072b1a8202cc85d6595  smartmontools-5.1.10-alt1.src.rpm

(sorry, первый раз залил с недопустимым Group - забыл поправить)

Description :
SMARTmontools controls and monitors storage devices using the
Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology System (S.M.A.R.T.)
built into ATA and SCSI Hard Drives.  This is used to check the
reliability of the hard drive and to predict drive failures.

The suite is derived from the smartsuite package, and contains two
utilities.  The first, smartctl, is a command line utility designed to
perform simple S.M.A.R.T. tasks.  The second, smartd, is a daemon that
periodically monitors smart status and reports errors to syslog.  The
package is compatible with the ATA/ATAPI-5 specification.  Future
releases will be compatible with the ATA/ATAPI-6 and ATA/ATAPI-7
specifications.  The package is intended to incorporate as much "vendor
specific" and "reserved" information as possible about disk drives.  man
smartctl and man smartd will provide more information.

Уже замечена шероховатость - smartd для ATA-диска пишет в лог
температуру в каких-то левых единицах (Device: /dev/hda, SMART Usage
Attribute: 194 Temperature_Celsius changed from 81 to 82) - хотя,
возможно, это проблемы конкретного устройства (MAXTOR 6L040J2, Not in
smartctl database). Для SCSI (QUANTUM  ATLAS IV 9 WLS) с единицами
температуры вроде бы всё в норме.

Подтверждаю. Для не внесенных в базу АТА винтов температура берется "от 
балды".

Не от былды, а из значение соответствующего поля (194),
сообщаемого винчестером утилите. У Максторов, действительно, это
значение в нормальном режиме около 80-ти. Я подозреваю, что это
фаренгейты.

Это у меня глаза косые :-(

Надо в конфиге руками добавлять -R 194 (причём число надо смотреть в
выводе smartctl -A - на разных моделях оно может быть разным).
Автоматически это не включается. Для особо извращённых дисков ещё и -v
надо.

Если 80 - это Фаренгейт, то 26 в Цельсиях. Неужели винт холоднее 
человека?
