Не воспроизводится. Всё работает. Я бы советовал обратить внимание на
фокус ввода. Если окно терминала единственное на рабочем месте, то фокус
теряется. Восстанавливается фокус лёгким движением мыши. Ничего убивать не
приходится.
Как вариант, могу попросить запустить aterm таким образом:
strace -o aterm.log aterm
проделать всё, до потребности его убить, сжать полученный лог с помощью
bzip2 и прислать мне лично.
