Я опять о наболевшем... Обновленный на работе Сизиф дома так и не запустился :(((
Опять поднимаю вопрос о том, работают ли я дра 2.4.19 и 2.4.20 на ICH4 должным образом? Попал мне недавно в руки live-диск Gentoo с демкой Unreal2003. Стоит там 2.4.20. По dmesg выдает упоминания о ICH4, что порадовало. Значит он знает о нем.
НО!
UDMA на дисках он включать наотрез отказался, а это, пожалуй, самое важное на данный момент.
То есть делаю:
#hdparm -d 1 /dev/hda
/dev/hda:
setting using_dma to 1 (on)
HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted
using_dma = 0 (off)
[root@sergey root]#
А как обстоят дела с Альтовыми ядрами?
