Да, при запуске. Да, дефолтные.

С этого и начинал, не помогло. Предпоследнее, что писалось в strace xmms - обход /usr/lib/xmms. Поэтому попробовал методично поудалять xmms-* пакеты, после удаления xmms-fc "падать" перестало, вернул все остальные плагины на место - тоже не падает.
