Кто знает, почему SWAT начинает работать, если только
в файле /etc/xinet.d/swat заменить localhost на 127.0.0.1
Это бага или что? И куда ее, в BTS?

Да, а разве её там ещё нет?
Баг на samba-swat, потому что xinetd делает reverse lookup
и обнаруживает несовпадение возвращённого значения с localhost.
Кстати, попробуйте написать localhost.localdomain.

Попробовал, тоже не работает. Работает, только если явно указать.
Кстати на www.atmsk.ru тоже кто-то спращивал, но IMHO не ответили.
