Глючит postfix. И я даже понял из-за чего.
В письме присутствует строчка:
To: admin@
В /var/log/maillog появляется следующее

Feb 28 17:38:05 voins postfix/smtpd[2252]: warning: premature end-of-input from public/cleanup socket while reading input attribute name
Похожие сообщения появляются если сказать:
$ mail voins@
...
Но при этом на root письмо не уходит а остаётся висеть в очереди:
$ mailq
-Queue ID- --Size-- ----Arrival Time---- -Sender/Recipient-------
B81B31FC27 102 Thu Feb 28 17:44:06 voins
voins@
-- 0 Kbytes in 1 Requests.
