Доброго дня!
Было:
GNOME 1.4, и XMMS, прилично работающие.
Делалось:
apt-get install gnome-core ghostscript
Сделалось:
Заказанное + много всего, из "многого" с писком влезли на машину:
glibc-core
XFree
rpm
Mozilla
Galeon
Nautilus
XMMS
(всего более сотни пакетов, общим объёмом 117 мегабайт)
Что стало лучше:
XFree кажется стал много быстрее. (может от улучшеного драйвера MGA)
Что стало хуже:
Подпяточное меню переехало на латинницу, базовое меню GNOME стало русским в части новых пунктов, осталось "бНОПНей" в части старых, спринговых пунктов. (ru_RU.CP1251)
Стал глючить XMMS. Будучи развёрнутым с playlist-ом и эквалайзером, свёрнутым в панель и развёрнутым вновь теряет список записей и/или эквалайзер. При попытке включения эквалайзера/списка - немедленно падает.
Самое неприятное:
Невозможножно запустить следующие приложения:
$ nautilus
(Диалог "Наутилус не может быть исп. сейчас из-за неожиданной ошибки)

$ evolution
