В продолжении обсуждения установки VmWare:
Насколько я понимаю при запуске vmware-configure.pl что-то (сам скрипт
или Makefile модулей) решает для какого ядра компилировать модуль --
2.4 или 2.6, и это решение принимается основываясь только на
местоположении заголовков ядра (т.е. пути к каталогу include). Мне
кажется, что намного надежнее/универсальнее делать это на основе
(примитивного) анализа файла include/linux/version.h. У меня там в
первой строке:
#define UTS_RELEASE "2.6.11-std26-up-alt6"
Есть какая-нибудь веская причина предпочитать старый способ предложенному?
Я говорю не только об Альт-линуксе, и если мне никто не разъяснит
минусы этого способа буду писать в vmware. Кстати куда там можно
писать с подобными предложениями, кроме как в форум?
