Заметил пересобирая abiword

checking for xft >= 2.0 fontconfig >= 1.0... Package xproto was not
found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the
directory containing `xproto.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment
variable Package 'xproto', required by 'Xft', not found
configure: error: Library requirements (xft >= 2.0 fontconfig >= 1.0)
not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if
your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

и его действительно нет :-\
