OpenSSH - это такая тонкая субстанция, с которой играть в масштабах
дистрибутива не стоит.
В новом OpenSSH коренным образом поменялась поддержка PAM, это требует
от мантейнера пакета нетривиальных усилий по сохранению нужной
функциональности.
При этом та версия OpenSSH, которая присутствует в Сизифе сейчас, вполне
справляется со своими обязанностями.

Есть среднесрочный план обновления, но, поскольку об уязвимостях в
нынешней версии мне не известно, то это не является первоочередной
задачей.
