Почему бы тогда альфа и бета релизы не назвать «альфа-версия» и «бета-версия»
соответственно, а за релиз-кандидатами не закрепить одно из вышеприведенных
соответствий?
Пилотный, как по мне, правильно с той точки зрения, что продукт «почти готов»
(в отличии от «производственных» или «черновых» альфы и беты) и действительно
нужно уже интенсивное тестирование публикой.
Предварительный, понятно, потому что предшествует «чистовому» релизу.
