Точно также в разговоре обычных людей, а не гиков, я не слышал слова "плагин".
Есть предложение назвать это не "модулем", а "расширением". Этот термин
прижился в Firefox и обладает более точным значением.

Лучше не использовать кальку, если есть вполне адекватные замены.
