Предлагаю обсудить возможность замены слова Демон в переводах KDE
на что-либо более имеющее смысл.
Этимология достаточно точно прослежена в foldoc:
Dictionary: foldoc
<operating system> /day'mn/ or /dee'mn/ (From the mythological
meaning, later rationalised as the acronym "Disk And Execution
MONitor")
В EngCom не очень много о возможных вариантах перевода:
daemon _n. служба; сервис; _нерек. демон;
