По поводу "не выпускают" - это вопрос очень спорный, скорей
относящийся к элементарному отсутствию девайса на стороне
поставщика. зайдите на 3com.com и посмотрите о поддержке данных
карт.
По поводу более нового - сразу вспомнился 3C980C-TXM.
По поводу цены - проще напишите сколько денег не жалко на
сетевую.
