Раньше (году в 2004-2005) CD/DVD-приводы работали плохо на 80-жильном
кабеле, либо нужно было играться их режимами DMA в биосе. Уже с года 2
ситуация с точностью до наоборот - приводы ведут себя крайне
непредсказуемо на 40-жильных кабелях. Лично наблюдал дикие ошибки чтения
у каких-то моделей LG, ASUS и еще где-то. В винде их плющит тоже, только
симптомы плюснутости разные могу быть.
