Возможно, был загружен ppdev, почему-то в его присутствии scanimage -L
ничего не находит. Есть еще одна проблема: запущенный под пользователем
scanimage -L спотыкается на:
open("/dev/port", O_RDWR|O_NOCTTY) = -1 EPERM (Operation not
permitted)
Насколько я понимаю, читать /dev/port никому кроме рута нельзя в
принципе, поэтому, наверное, выход в поднятии saned :(
