Гм, об asus A7N8X/Deluxe могу сказать то же самое. Независимо от серии
ядра Linux и ОС вообще (удивительное единодушие с Microsoft(R)
Windows(TM)) наблюдаются серьёзные тормоза при интенсивном использовании
ввода-вывода на HDD: достаточно запустить копирование DVD на HDD (каналы
IDE - разные(!)), чтобы наблюдать слайд-шоу в любых GUI-приложениях,
которым тоже нужна дисковая подсистема (например, Thunderbird с
немаленькими POP3-ящиками, которые в другое время открываются
практически мгновенно.)
abit на том же nForce2 работает без вопросов (почти - на Linux 2.4 есть
проблемы с ACPI/PCI, которые обходятся передачей параметра pci=noacpi
ядру, см. http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2574 ).
