Не щупал, по параметрам -- скорее линейное чтение,
чем вразнобойка (т.к. шесть голов: при 8/10 головах
шанс, что конкретная дорожка окажется под одной из них,
в среднем выше и под нагрузкой эта разница заметна).

Для сборочной/тестовой может быть лучше лишних несколько гигов
памяти и в tmpfs их всех. По крайней мере при 12G RAM намного
веселей, чем на дисках.
Если требуется постоянное место жительства виртуалок --
пуркуа бы не па, плохого про него пока будто не пишут.
