Отлично себя показывают Hitachi HDS721010KLA330, хорошо --
HDP725050GLA360, заметно хуже -- HDS721010CLA332.
Есть некоторое количество Seagate ES.2 1Tb, но там учтено

WD сейчас под рукой не особо много, но синие коврики на 500Gb
будто пока не летали, слава Богу.

У более дорогих вариантов SATA отбраковка примерно сопоставимая,
похоже...

Значит, её лучше посадить на отдельную пару шпинделей в зеркале
либо на SSD.

Не пробовал; в mdadm есть write-mostly.
