Есть Tyan S2881 Thunder K8SR с двумя Opteron 270 и 4G RAM,
в принципе могу добраться и посмотреть в BIOS, но подобного
не припоминаю (сейчас под 2.6.18-ovz-rhel).
На всякий, BIOS же у Вас там точно последний под неё?

Что-то лезет в голову насчёт IOMMU... проходивший мимо sr@ сказал,
что где-то после .32 появилась эмуляция, кажется (мог не всё
точно уловить). Ещё говорит, что если отсюда вылезло отлетание
стораджа под /bin, можно попробовать загрузиться по сети для
проверки этого варианта. Тж. http://lwn.net/Articles/252826/
PS: и ещё на всякий -- я бы загрузился с добавленной памятью
_без_ той, что стояла раньше, и поставил под memtest86+.
