Добрый день:
поставил себе МФУ Xerox 3119. С родного диска запустил инсталлер для Линукса,
все встало без каких-либо проблем. Печатает тоже без замечаний. Но стоит
запустить kooka (или xsane, так как kooka использует его), получаем "банан":

По трейсу видно, что проблема в libmfp, которая инсталлируется для этого МФУ:
