[Hardware] Plextor PX-800 портит CD-R при записи на малых скоростях

Здравствуйте!


Пытаюсь записывать CD-R на приводе Plextor PX-800, задав малую
скорость записи (speed=8 или speed=4):
$ cdrecord -v speed=4 -dao a.iso 

В результате cdrecord выдаёт сообщение об ошибке почти сразу 
после начала записи. (Всю его ругань привожу ниже.) Проблема
наблюдается с самыми разными CD-R матрицами: Verbatim, TDK,
noname.

Если скорость записи не задавать (запускать cdrecord без опции 
speed), диск записывается нормально, на скорости около 22x.



Вопрос -- есть ли способ (и смысл?) заставить Plextor PX-800 и
cdrecord записывать CD-R на малой скорости?


Дистрибутив Мастер 2.4, cdrecord-2.01-alt1a37, Plextor PX-800
работет через эмуляцию SCSI.
