Насколько я понимаю, тут нет той же ситуации, как в паре ASUS/Pioneer
(AFAIR, там даже прошивку можно взаимозаменять). Достаточно сравнить
спецификации на приводы по адресам http://www.pioneer-rus.ru/ и
http://www.sonynec-optiarc.de/, чтобы было видно, что продукция разная.
И вообще, меня интересуют не чипсеты, а конечная продукция, которую я
покупаю и ставлю в свой системник. Соответственно, качество
изготовления, функциональность, безглючность работы под Linux. В
отношении имеющихся железок претензий по этим пунктам (пока, во всяком
случае) не имею.
