Вообще-то Li-Ion живут примерно два года после даты выпуска.
Если это знать (и для мобилочных -- как посмотреть эту дату),
то слишком быстро они будут приказывать жить раз в пару лет.

Не гуглятся с добавлением "linux".

Как минимум это значит, что шансы есть :-)

Сталкивался только с CDMA/3G (Kyocera 2345 и CCU-550),
оба завелись без проблем.
